The Beatles on DVD: 4 November 1963 (2/2)

A.a. Title: The Royal Variety Performance.
Location: Prince of Wales Theatre, London. Country: England.
Date: Monday 4 November 1963. Aired: Sunday 10 November 1963.

The Beatles Anthology dub splices in a shot of the Queen after John’s intro to "Twist and Shout". In fact, that shot
comes from the very end of the show, when all the performers came back to salute her. Most DVDs feature this
artefact, this one included, which is a composite of several dubs, one of which has the time-code digitally masked.

A.b. Title: The Royal Variety Performance.
Location: Prince of Wales Theatre, London. Country: England.
Date: Monday 4 November 1963. Aired: Sunday 10 November 1963.

The complete set, time-coded, but without the second curtain salute. British Lions' From These
Small Beginnings
(Disc 2) combines this version with others but this is the unfettered tape.

A.c. Title: The Royal Variety Performance.
Location: Prince of Wales Theatre, London. Country: England.
Date: Monday 4 November 1963. Aired: Sunday 10 November 1963.

The complete set, with a different time-code. British Lions' From These Small Beginnings (Disc 2)
has a slightly cleaner dub (first capture), but only as part of its composited version. An even better dub of the
very end of the set, after the Beatles have left the stage, is also excerpted on that release (third capture).
